Incredible Wind Speeds
Since the entire continent is bare, save for some mountains and valleys, Antarctica does not support any vegetative life due to the harsh weather conditions. As such, there are no windbreakers, making the area the windiest locations on Earth.
With wind speeds of up to 320 km/h (200 mph), it’s no wonder anything exists on the ground. We bet that when scientists head there to do some research, they have to be strapped in somehow to prevent them from being blown away into oblivion. It surely would be fun to have a kite over there; with that wind, game time would be bliss.
