Dry Icy Desert
Despite most of the land being covered in snow, did you know that Antarctica is one of the driest places on Earth? Due to low humidity, the dry valleys are incredibly parched and rarely get any snow or ice cover; pretty interesting, right?
Because of its dry nature, the continent is considered the largest desert on the planet. It seems that having the most extensive snow cover doesn’t necessarily mean that life is possible or that vegetation will thrive in the area. This is one of the more fascinating nature paradoxes we’ve lately come across!
