Turkey
The establishment of the military in Turkey dates back to the times of its independence in the early ’90s. Since then, it has fought numerous wars owing to its central position on the globe, including the War on Terror in Afghanistan in the aftermath of the Istanbul bombings in 2003.
As of 2022, Turkey had several military bases in numerous countries, including 114 of them in Syria. According to a 2022 study, Turkey had the second most international bases globally behind America. The commands also work on humanitarian operations such as disaster relief and search and rescue.
