Apocalypse Now (1979)
Considered in some circles as the best Vietnam-themed movie in Hollywood, Apocalypse Now was banned in South Korea due to its anti-war sentiment. Since then, opinions have been largely divided over whether the film was, in fact, pro-war or anti-war.
Directed by Ford Coppola, the maestro behind The Godfather film series, Apocalypse Now will go down in history books as one of the best war films ever made. With an all-star cast that included big names like Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando, the movie follows a U.S. soldier on a mission to assassinate a renegade Special Forces officer in Vietnam.
