Harry Truman & Bess Wallace – 1919
Following the passing of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman took on the presidency. He had been married to Bess Wallace for 26 years by then, and therefore, she became the First Lady of the United States. Their nuptials took place at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Independence, Missouri, on June 28, 1919.
On that day, Wallace wowed the attendees with the simple yet elegant Georgette dress paired with a white hat. It looks like Wallace loved her flowers because not only was her bouquet comprised of Aaron Ward roses, but the church was also crowded with daisies, pink hollyhock, and pale blue larkspur, as per The Knot.
