Jasper Carrott, 78
Born Robert Norman Davis in Birmingham, England, he’s best known by his stage name Jasper Carrott. A renowned British actor and comedian, he starred in the 1987 comedy “Jane and the Lost City,” presented the stand-up comedy show “Canned Carrott,” and worked as a writer for the series “Cool It,” starring Phil Cool.
Carrott is no stranger to other forms of writing, too, as he’s authored numerous comedy paperbacks over the years. He also worked extensively as a singer, even though he decided to retire from singing in 2005. He remained active as a comedian and continues to be one of the funniest men in the United Kingdom.
