Rottweiler – Faithful, Energetic Guardians
Rottweilers are a German breed of dog that was originally called Rottweiler Metzgerhund. One can expect to pay between $1,000 and $1,500 each. The Romans brought them to Germany, using Rottweilers to herd cattle and protect the populace. Their name roughly means Rottweil butcher’s dog because they were used to pull meat carts in the city of Rottweil.
As natural guard dogs with muscled bodies and quiet confidence, Rottweilers excel in several working roles. Owners need to be devoted to training and socializing, or the strong will of a Rottweiler can make them difficult around anything more than their master. With early socializing, they make protective family pets.
