Thunders and Rumbles
The sounds captured by Geeven and the scientists are totally new and entirely familiar at the same time. They can be compared to the rumbling sounds of a distant thunderstorm, and they are coincidentally similar to a type of music known as ‘drone.’
‘Drone’ is a genre of experimental music in which artists deal mostly with static atonal frequencies to produce a type of ambient sound that’s completely free of basic musical notions such as rhythm, pitch, or timber. According to Geeven’s recordings, the planet Earth “spoke” the language of drone music, producing a hissy, greyish, and low-frequency-based all-natural symphony.
