Disregarding the Basics
Clearing hurdles is a fundamental aspect of track and field, and it’s no easy task. Athletes are expected to leap over the barriers, not go underneath them. Given that this sport is a part of the Olympics, it’s reasonable to assume that competitors are well–versed in the rules.
Despite this, one athlete chooses to bypass the hurdle by going underneath it. We can’t help but speculate about her motivations. Did she believe that her unorthodox approach would go unnoticed? Or was this a sign that she had given up on the competition? Whatever the explanation, her actions have thrust her into the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
