Katie Derham of BBC Proms is a British newscaster and a presenter on television and radio for BBC Channel 3. She was the host of the Classical BRIT Awards ceremony four times. In 2010, in the factual entertainment program First Love, she returned to the violin she played in her youth.

Derham can be credited as the youngest national newsreader on British television. She is an employee of the BBC, a primarily state-funded enterprise with a commercial wing, whose presenters rarely earn more than £200K a year. Durham’s present salary is around that mark.
