There was a time in human history where arranged marriages were prevalent around the world. Whether it was to strengthen family ties, give a child a better life by marrying them into wealth, or just tradition, arranged marriages were an actual thing. However, the trend died down over the years.
Yet, some Eastern cultures still practice it, most notably in Japan, India, and China. There was a long-held perception that Amish communities also practice this. But it turns out that’s not the case, and there are, in fact, no arranged marriages at all. These people get to choose the partner of their wishing just like us regular folks.
