They Can Live A Long Time
The Amish are farmers by trade, and as such, spend long days working in the fields farming and harvesting. This means they have a decent level of general fitness. They also fuel their bodies with some pretty healthy foods, including organic vegetables from their home gardens.
Their diets are rich in carbohydrates and lipids, comprising traditionally of a sausage and eggs breakfast and meat and potatoes staple for supper to fuel the muscles for the next day’s work. This makes them healthy and gives them longevity, which is augmented even further with the restrictions on smoking and drinking. These people even have a 40% lower chance of cancer!
