Bill Haslam (Born in 1958) – 49th Governor of Tennessee
Being a graduate of Emory University, Bill Haslam followed in his father’s footsteps and joined him in the family business. He had a lustrous business career before switching to politics in 2003. He first became the mayor of Knoxville and served two terms.
He also competed for the governorship seat and defeated most of his opponents. He was in office as governor of Tennessee from 2011 to 2019. In 2015, he was estimated to be worth $2 billion by Forbes. He announced his decision not to run for a senatorial seat in 2019, even though people had been speculating otherwise all year.
