Tim Scott (Born 1965) – Junior United States Senator
Tim Scott is undoubtedly worth admiration. He has the noble record of being the first African American to have served in both chambers of Congress. He is also one of only eleven African-Americans to have ever been in the Senate. However, that’s not where his list of broken records ends.
No other African-American had represented South Carolina as a senator before Scott did. Despite getting to serve as the junior United States Senator for South Carolina through an appointment in 2013, he got elected to a full term in 2016. In 2021, he voted against creating an independent commission to investigate the attack on the Capitol.
