Kristy McNichol – Born in 1962, Family

For Kristy, commercials were her first venture, given her dashing looks, before she landed a role in the show Family as a teenager. The drama series honed her acting skills, and not so long after, McNichol’s was a household name.

However, being in the industry for such a long time would take its toll on anyone, and it was no different on Kristy. While shooting in 1982, she had a nervous breakdown, which led her to consider retirement. In 2001, she officially hung up her boots, choosing to pursue a less hectic career. We hope she’s still holding her head high, like the queen she is.
