Rishi Sunak – Kensington
Rishi Sunak is possibly the best-suited person to discuss the establishment of a so-called mansion tax. He owns around four houses with his wife Akshatha, the daughter of Indian billionaire Narayan Murthy. Since 2015, he has served as the Member of Parliament for Richmond in North Yorkshire.
The incumbent chancellor would be one of the first Brits to be punished by a government-proposed yearly fee on high-value properties. The couple’s primary London residence is a five-bedroom Georgian townhouse in Kensington, which is worth about £7 million. The Sunaks’ are reported to own property worth more than £10 million in total.
