Virgil Van Dijk – Alderley Edge, £3.15 million
Former captain of the Netherlands national football team, Virgil Van Dijk, realized he needed a place to stay following his transfer to Liverpool in 2018. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 3.4-acre home in Alderley Edge turned out to be the perfect spot for Van Dijk.
Even though he could technically afford the home, it was not for sale, which meant Van Dijk had to live as a tenant instead. After Solskjaer’s permanent appointment as Manchester United’s manager, Van Dijk was forced to move out of the five-bedroom mansion. According to the latest rumors, Liverpool is reportedly set to offer Van Dijk a contract extension worth £50 million.
