Sol Campbell – Northumberland, £5.25 million
Arsenal football player Sol Campbell first purchased Hallington Hall near Whittington, Northumberland, back in 2009. The former Arsenal footballer and manager of Macclesfield Town then proceeded to spend a fortune renovating and re-decorating his new place alongside his wife, Fiona.
Being a construction designer herself, Fiona proved to be a big help to turn the mansion into Campbell’s dream home. He put the residence up for sale in 2015 for £5.95 million before slashing the price to £5.25 million the following year. Campbell recently quit as the League Two club Southend United manager, despite being contracted until the end of the 2022 season.
