Reese Witherspoon created a memorable impression in Legally Blonde and later outdid herself in the 2014 movie Wild. She achieved an equal measure of success on the small screen with Big Little Lies and, most recently, the Hulu drama Little Fires Everywhere. Big Little Lies earned her a Primetime Emmy.

During an appearance on the SmartLess podcast in 2020, Whitherspoon didn’t rule out the possibility of running for a political office someday. The show’s co-host, Jason Bateman, chimed in, saying that she would undoubtedly receive many votes. She responded jokingly that the standards in the country had become very low.
