Seeing The Titanic Off
Some things never change. Just like how people today like seeing their loved ones off— be it when they’re boarding a cheap flight or a long-distance train— people then flocked to the dock to see the Titanic off, too.
Because we know the fate of many of those on board, this photo shows the bittersweet moment of the last time people saw their friends or family members. Of the 1,308 passengers believed to be on the ship, less than 500 were saved when the “unsinkable” ship sank while crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
