Docked At Her Birthplace
In this photo, we see the Titanic docked in her birthplace of Belfast just a week before her maiden voyage. There, a team of over 15,000 worked on building her piece by piece. There were the architects who designed her, the carpenters that furnished her interiors, and more.
This is a testament to Belfast’s historical significance in shipbuilding. During its heydays, the shipyard paid 35,000 workers and even proved to be an asset to the UK during World War II. It is credited for producing over 500 tanks and 140 warships.
