Peter Donald Beauchamp Hitchener’s name is a mouthful, which is probably why he simply answers to Peter Hitchener. Yet if there’s one thing we can boldly say about him, it’s that he’s very committed to his career.
Hitchener’s commitment was the driving force behind his decision to join the Brisbane radio station “4BH” in 1965. There he wrote, edited, and presented news bulletins. He then moved to ABC to work as a relief presenter on the evening news. After a year, Hitchener moved to Nine Network to work as a news presenter. And in 2013, a gala was hosted in his honor to celebrate his 40-year stay with the network.
