Facing Pressure From The Top
The project was falling behind on schedule due to slow progress. As a result, the road contractors involved began facing pressure from the authorities. They, in turn, took their frustration out on the workers.
The construction site became a bed of hostility and tension—the workers grumbling that they were not working in the right conditions and the supervisors complaining that they were being forced to make unrealistic demands. They all could have done with a solution, or at the very least, some distraction to ease the stress. Little did they know they were about to get more than what they asked for.
