Renowned more for their prowess on the rugby and cricket field, where they have been crowned world champions numerous times, Australia has still made a name in the soccer world. This is thanks to iconic players like Mark Viduka, Harry Kewell, and Mark Schwarzer, among others. As a team, they’ve been a mixed bag, though.
The Socceroos, as they are known, hold the distinction of being the only team to win two different confederation championships. They won the OFC Nations Cup four times before and won the Asian Cup in 2015. Their best World Cup finish was in the Round of 16 in 2006, which must have made this beauty happy.
