Alice Playten – Heart Failure
Alice Playten made a career out of her childlike voice with credits for animated films like Ladybug Ladybug, My Little Pony: The Movie, and Doug’s 1st Movie. She also performed in several off-broadway productions, including Shlemiel the First. Her last recorded acting credit was in the 2009 movie The rebound. She left an inheritance of 5 Million to her family.
Playten checked into the Manhattan-based Sloan-Kettering Hospital, but she passed away in June 2011 from heart failure. She battled with juvenile diabetes throughout her life, and it got worse when she developed pancreatic cancer. The Second Stage Theater honored Playten’s memory in November 2011 with a retrospect of her work.
