Harold Shipman – Hanged Himself to Death
From the years 1975 to 1998, serial killer Harold Shipman, who was a trusted family physician, used his position to murder patients by using a lethal dose of injection. He was regarded as one of the most prolific killers in modern history and killed around 250 people.
Most of his victims were elderly and vulnerable, and he was caught in the town of Hyde, in Upper Manchester, where he was practicing medicine when an 81-year-old woman died just after Shipman visited her. In 2000, he was convicted of 15 murders and forgery and sentenced to life imprisonment. Shipman eventually committed suicide in his cell.
