Rodney Agatupu Anoaʻi (Yokozuna) – Pulmonary Edema

Rodney Agatupu Anoaʻi adopted the ring name Yokozuna referencing the highest rank achievable in competitive sumo wrestling. He’s best known for working with the integrated entertainment company the World Wrestling Federation. Anao’i most memorably won matchups against Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart.

Pulmonary edema claimed his life in October 2000 at the age of 34. Initially, the media reported that he had died from a heart attack. Autopsy reports showed that his lungs were strained due to fluid blockage. He tipped the scale at 580lbs at the time of his passing.
