RuPaul Charles and Georges LeBar

RuPaul certainly knew how to make a wish come true! In the early 1990s, he was on the dance floor at a New York City nightclub called Limelight when he met his future husband, Georges LeBar. It was love at first sight when they caught each other’s eye on the Australian rancher’s birthday.

RuPaul and LeBar, who have a 13-year age difference, didn’t tie the knot until the anniversary of their fateful chance meeting in 2017. The Fairy Godmother of drag queens had often quipped that his prayers were answered when he met the love of his life—something he spoke about in a 2015 interview with BuzzFeed.
