Dick Clement, 85
Dick Clement is a seasoned writer and director who works closely with Ian LA Frenais. Beginning with the ’60s series “The Likely Lads,” Clement went on to create other works that catapulted him to fame. He also co-wrote the series “Porridge,” which aired from 1974 to 1977 and was followed by a sequel in 2016.
His directorial debut was in 1968 with the comedy thriller “Otley,” which he also wrote. In 1970, the film received a Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Award for Best British Comedy Screenplay. Clement has since spearheaded several other projects in addition to tours, such as his 2022 tour of Newcastle with Frenais.
