Ian La Frenais, 85
Ian La Frenais’ writing career peaked between the ’60s and the ’80s. With several works to their credit, his collaboration with co-writer Dick Clement was not quite fruitful. Among the projects these two worked on were “The Likely Lads,” “Not Only…But Also,” and “Mr. Aitch.” During their years of collaboration, they have co-written nearly 50 works, including the British sitcom “Porridge,” which had a sequel released in 2016.
The creative pair have been active since their last work, the documentary “My Generation,” which was released in 2017. Frenais and Clement were on tour around Newcastle in September 2022, showing fans the creation process for their famous series.
