Brian Cooke, 84
“Man About the House” and “George and Mildred” would not have enjoyed the success they did if it wasn’t for great solid writing behind them. Comedy writer Brian Cooke was the man who co-wrote the scripts for the sitcoms along with his writing partner Johnnie Mortimer. He met Mortimer while working as a cartoonist, and the duo would go on to spread hilarity everywhere.
Cooke went on to lend his astute writing abilities to other sitcoms like “Keep It in the Family,” “Father, Dear Father,” “Full House,” and “Slinger’s Day. He remained active till 1990 when he was last credited for “Close to Home.”
