Ian McKellen, 82
Despite his age, Ian McKellen will forever be renowned as a pop culture icon. That’s because he is renowned for playing two major characters in modern pop culture films: Magneto in The X-Men films and the wizard Gandalf the Grey in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit franchise.
Of course, despite his wizard status, he didn’t just appear in a Magneto suit circa 2000. Oh no, his acting career dates back to 1964 with a stage play called A Scent of Flowers. He made his film debut in 1969 in The Promise, and in 2021 had a starring role in the film Infinitum: Subject Unknown.
