Hitting That Invisible Guitar
The Grease Band kicked off the third day of the Woodstock festival. After performing with songs such as “Let’s Go Get Stoned,” “I Shall Be Released,” and “Feelin’ Alright?” their leader Joe Cocker stepped closer for his own set. This image of him strumming an invisible guitar was one glimpse of the moment he considered to be very special.
Cocker set himself different from other artists with his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage presence. His release of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends” recording brought him to stardom and has become a crowd favorite at many of his shows, including the Isle of Wight and Woodstock.
