Barbara Pierce & George H.W. Bush – 1945
After serving as the Second Lady of the United States for eight years between 1981 and 1989, Barbara Bush got to climb up to the position of the First Lady with her husband George H. W. Bush’s presidency. They were married for nearly 45 years when they took residence at the White House.
The photos from their wedding, captured on January 6, 1945, weren’t clear enough to pick out the details of her outfit. However, it was clear enough to conclude as a white frock with a round neckline, paired with a veil and white flower bouquet. They lived to see 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
