An-Eleven Minute Act Launched Success
The rock band Santana was formed by guitarist and songwriter Carlos Santana, and this picture proves how his guitar skills played a major role in making him a legendary musician. They were one of the least known groups at the festival, and even though their set lasted for only 11 minutes, their performance of “Soul Sacrifice” left a lasting impression.
Shortly after their appearance at Woodstock, they released their first three albums, “Santana,” “Abraxas,” and “Santana III,” which all tasted success. It had been quite some time since their peak, yet the group remained one of the best-selling groups of all time, with over 100 million albums sold worldwide.
