Norway
The Norwegian Armed Forces comprise five service branches, including their air force, army, as well as their cyber defense force. Their budget taken from the GDP is about $7.23 billion, i.e., almost 2% of their GDP. That is still huge considering the population of quarter million people in the state.
Norway employs mandatory conscription (military service) for all citizens, given they’re physically fit and it involves a 19-month training. In fact, this was the first of the NATO countries to have included women in conscription in 2015. Not all people get selected for it, and only those who are motivated and highly willing are recruited.
