Sir Ian McKellen has won just about every entertainment award in existence, which in itself speaks about his exemplary talent. Most memorably, he featured in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies. McKellen doesn’t have any plans to retire just yet, with scheduled appearances in Infinitum: Subject Unknown and Hamlet Revenant.
Being a bankable star also means earning the big bucks, and he is worth an estimated £42M. After revealing his orientation in 1988, McKellen has been a vocal LGBT advocate, and he established the Stonewall organization to champion the group’s rights.
